The EU-Japan Center for Industrial Cooperation, established in 1987 as the central organization for implementing industrial cooperation between the EU and Japan, and as an affiliate of the Institute for International Studies and Training, has opened applications for the its next Cluster/SME mission of the digital sector which will be organized in Japan, in conjunction with the "Smart Manufacturing Summit 2024".

The manufacturing industry has supported the evolution of mobility. As well as developing EVs, hydrogen vehicles, linear motor cars and drones as new sustainable, safe and convenient modes of mobility, the industry is today redefining the concept of “mobility” and considers not only as the means of transport, but also the move of information, energy, lifelines and other intangibles. In line with this evolution, the manufacturing industry has reached a major turning point today and is running towards the realisation of Industry 5.0. This exhibition condenses all these elements and will be held in Aichi Prefecture, the world leading industrial manufacturing region. In addition, the organizer, GL events, will utilise the network of Global Industrie, one of Europe's largest industrial trade fairs, which is held in France every year, to involve not only the Japanese market but also the European market and present latest trends in manufacturing and mobility at a global level.

SMART MANUFACTURING SUMMITs will gather all of actors to create the mobility of tomorrow.

Targets:

  • The programme targets EU SMEs and clusters in digital technologies (i.e. technologies encompassing digital devices, systems, and resources that help create, store, and process data) interested in doing business with Japan, in particular with applications in smart manufacturing and smart mobility.

Programme's objectives:

  • promote your technology at one of Japan’s leading fair events
  • meet potential business partners
  • create new business opportunities
  • develop partnerships and business cooperation in global markets
